Androgens

Androgens are the male hormones that, among other things, promote the formation of the male genital organs. The most important of these hormones is testosterone. In the female body, androgens are formed in the ovaries and in the adrenal cortex.
To a large extent, they serve as a “precursor” substance for the production of oestrogens. Androgens are responsible for the growth of muscles and bones, increase the production of sebum by the skin and shape the male pattern of hair growth.
